Excel dates
Does GS-Base have a function to convert serial dates (as found in .XLS date fields after import) to usable date fields?
I expected the date() function to work, but it doesn't seem to, and I can't find anything else that can handle them...

Minor error
Hi :>
Just noticed this: if you hover over the technical support entry in the help menu, the text that appears in the status bar refers to "techinal" support.
It's probably been like that for years.
Not in any way important!

dBase import of large files
One of my early uses of GS-Base was to query super-large .dbf files (created and managed with a Clipper-compiled program that used Advantage Database Server to break the 2Gb filesize barrier). I don't now remember quite what had to be done to allow GS-Base to import files from this environment, but ...

Hi :> I just tried to use GS-Base to work with a 12.8Gb .DBF file. I know the maximum filesize is available memory but I couldn't remember if this was only RAM or RAM + virtual memory. Hoped for the latter (I only have 8Gb RAM on this machine) but it failed. The error on the failure was just an &quo...
